Former pub given new lease of life as a creative hub

A ONCE-abandoned pub in Wraxall has been transformed into a thriving creative hub after property developers and architects Studio Hive relocated their offices to the historic site.

The former Battleaxes pub, which had remained closed since 2019, has been given a new lease of life as The Temperance House following an extensive refurbishment by Studio Hive. The Bristol-based firm, which recently celebrated its tenth anniversary, has now moved its operations into the Grade II listed building in North Somerset.
The site now houses Studio Hive and its sister business, Studio Hive Architects, and features a modern working environment including a games room, kitchen space and its brightly coloured mascot, Harry the rhino, placed outside the entrance.
