Cat attacks Police officers will be ‘keeping additional lookout’ in area

POLICE say they will be ‘keeping an additional lookout’ in the St Pauls area after a local councillor warned of a series of reports of cats being mutilated, abused or going missing.

- Tristan CORK

Avon and Somerset Police said they were looking to establish connections between the reports of an injured cat and a man acting suspiciously in the area, but that “we do not have any evidence to confirm deliberate harm is being caused”.

The Post revealed last week that local councillor Abdul Malik had written to the council, the police and the RSPCA to inform them of a series of reports of cats being attacked in a fairly small area of the BS2 area.

Cllr Malik (Green, Ashley) said one cat had been found with its head and tail cut off, another was found alive but with its tongue missing, others had gone missing and there was an increase in missing cat posters in the St Pauls area of the city.
