OFFICIALS 'HAPPY' AFTER SAFETY MEASURES SCRAPPED

Cost-cut park gates in spotlight after reports of anti-social behaviour

THERE have been reports of bad behaviour in a town park since a decision to scrap safety measures — but cost-cutting officials are satisfied that the number of incidents is low.

Members of the Boston Town Area Committee (BTAC) were told that there have been recent reports of antisocial behaviour at Central Park in Boston, following BTAC’s decision not to renew its security and ‘gate-locking’ services.

At a meeting on Thursday, March 26, Phil Perry, assistant director for leisure and local services, at the South and East Lincolnshire Councils Partnership, updated members on the situation.

He said: “Following the decision not to renew the security and gate locking services at Central Park, the gates have been unlocked since August 31 2025.
