Trained by Owen Burrows for the Shadwell operation, El Megeeth ‘was a 375,000 guineas purchase as a foal, boasting a fine pedigree as a daughter of Ghaiyyath out of the Listed winner Tanoura, who has produced four black-type performers.

The three-year-old did not make her racecourse bow until June, when she was easily held in an all-weather maiden, but she has since finished second in another maiden and a novice before connections moved her attention to handicap company at Newbury last month.
