Builder signs tower deal

A MAIN contractor has been appointed to build a new tall apartment tower in Birmingham city centre.
Midgard will lead the construction of 'Edition Birmingham, a new residential scheme to be housed on site of the former Paradise Circus council car park in Cambridge Street.
The complex will have 581 oneand two-bedroom apartments for sale across two blocks - the 15-storey 'Park Residence' and 46-storey 'Centenary Tower'.
The buildings will have 23,000 sq ft of amenity space including a swimming pool, gymnasium and yoga studio on the 44th and 45th floors.
There will also be a climbing wall, co-working spaces, private dining and external terraces with a cinema screen.
The project is expected to create 300 jobs, including 60 apprenticeships and work experience roles.
