Woman hit by van on golf course after police chase dies

A WOMAN has died after being struck by a van on a Sutton Coldfield golf course.

The crash happened at Aston Wood Golf Club in Blake Street shortly before 10.30am on Friday after a grey Nissan van being pursued by West Midlands Police through Little Aston drove onto the golf course and struck the woman.
She was airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by the Midlands Air Ambulance with life-threatening injuries.
The woman, who was said to be in her 60s, remained in a critical condition but lost her life on Tuesday night.
Staffordshire Police issued the update on Wednesday evening.
