Sacred month of Ramadan is a divinely ordained season of renewal
Birmingham Mail
|February 23, 2026
LAST week, the Ummah of Islam across the continents of the earth entered the sacred month of Ramadan, the month of mercy, forgiveness, and deliverance from the Fire.
From the break of dawn until the setting of the sun, believers abstain from food and drink and from marital intimacy, not out of custom or culture, but in humble submission to the command of Allah seeking His pleasure and nearness.
Ramadan is a divinely ordained season of renewal - a spiritual and moral reset. It disciplines behaviour, refines eating habits, and curbs heedlessness.
The believer abandons constant snacking, restrains anger, and softens the heart through hunger and thirst, tasting thereby a portion of the hardship endured by the poor and the needy.
