Police report more arrests as crime falls

WEST Midlands Police arrested more than 1,000 suspects in the last week alone - even though the force says “total crime” is down.
They made the arrests in connection with a wide range of suspected crimes.
They included 200 arrests on suspicion of assault, 300 for domestic abuse and scores of arrests for a wide range of other suspected offences such as robbery, burglary and vehicle crime.
