BLUES have been linked with a move for Japanese striker Kyogo Furuhashi six months after the Celtic icon joined French club Rennes.
BLUES have been linked with a move for Japanese striker Kyogo Furuhashi six months after the Celtic icon joined French club Rennes.
Kyogo hasn’t hit the heights expected of him in France with no goals in his six Ligue 1 appearances.
Still, the notion that Championship side Blues are in a position to land the striker is being universally reported as a ‘shock’.
That is probably because Kyogo was so prolific during his Celtic days that it seemed a matter of time before he made the jump to the Premier League.
Kyogo registered 85 goals in 165 games for Celtic to make himself a firm favourite with their supporters. He peaked in 2022/23 when he scored 34 goals across all competitions, including 27 in the Scottish Premiership, to claim the league's Golden Boot award.
Celtic sold Kyogo to Rennes in January for a reported £10 million but he has only made one start for the French club and now looks set to leave.
