KINGPIN MUST REPAY £1M - OR FACE CONSEQUENCES
A NOTORIOUS Midland-based crime boss faces 12 more years behind bars and losing his share of his fortified Tamworth mansion if he does not pay back more than £1 million.
The clock is ticking for Thomas 'Bomber' Kavanagh who now has three months to cough up more than £1.1 million following a Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) investigation led by the National Crime Agency (NCA).
If Kavanagh, 57, does not cough up the cash, he faces another 12 years in prison.
Kavanagh was the head of the Irish Kinahan gang's UK faction and ran his drug empire from a bulletproof house near Tamworth before he was jailed in 2022.
He was jailed for 21 years for orchestrating the importation of multi-million-pound drug shipments worth around £30 million at UK street value. He also admitted being involved in the illegal trafficking of firearms and money laundering.
