Killer died of cancer after he was sent to a hospice

PRISONER HAD TERMINAL DIAGNOSIS
A KILLER who murdered his neighbour at a Birmingham flat has died in a hospice.
Abdul Ghani, of Ellesmere Road, Alum Rock, was jailed for life after he stabbed Dean Elwell while high on a cocktail of drink and drugs in 2009.
The 46-year-old, was sent to HMP Birmingham and told he must remain behind bars for at least 14 years before he could be released.
It has been confirmed that former Big Issue seller Ghani was compassionately released from prison to die in a hospice last year.
