THIS was the frightening moment a huge firework exploded in front of police in the heart of Birmingham.
The firework exploded just as a police officer walked behind the van in Corporation Street
A group of thugs caused havoc in Corporation Street firing volley after volley of fireworks towards the junction of New Street without any regard for pedestrians on Friday night.
A police van arrived and an officer ran towards the group when a big flash was seen with a loud bang. Fortunately no one was injured.
