Ezri has no axe to grind over Unai outburst

Wilson Isidor scores the Sunderland equaliser

EZRI Konsa admits Unai Emery was right to describe Villa's defending as “lazy” following last weekend's draw at Sunderland.

Villa faced ten men at the Stadium of Light for over an hour but still failed to secure what would have been their first win of the season.

Matty Cash opened the scoring in the 67th minute with the club’s first Premier League goal of the campaign, but Wilson Isidor equalised shortly after.

Following the match, Emery criticised his players for being lazy in defence, failing to win duels, and lacking identity on the pitch.

Speaking ahead of Villa's first Europa League group-stage fixture of the season against Bologna tonight, Konsa addressed the media at Bodymoor Heath and was asked about the manager's comments.
