Ethan Laird, an explosive right-back who bounced back from repeated injuries, has praised Blues' TBRx method

- By ALEX DICKEN

THE release of Built in Birmingham: Brady and the Blues will catapult the club in front of eyes that might not even know England’s Second City exists.

While Blues fans up and down this country will log on to Amazon Prime today looking to gain an insight into Chris Davies’ record-breaking side, or perhaps just to relive some of last season's memorable moments, club bosses are hoping to wake up a whole new fanbase.

The presence of seven-time Super Bowl winner Tom Brady's name in the title is key to capturing the hearts and minds of an American audience.

While Brady's role should not be underestimated, there is the possibility it could be over-egged to American sports fans more willing to attach themselves to a sporting icon than the money men powering this story. Chairman Wagner is very much the leading Tom for Blues fans this side of the Atlantic, but Brady is the club’s unique selling point across the pond. For the players, the 47-year-old is a valuable presence.

“He's there when he can be,” says defender Ethan Laird. “He's a busy man and he’s enjoying his retirement as well. These are things we have to realise.
