Crew forced to flee after 'receiving abuse'

A BIN crew was forced to flee after they were intimidated and abused whilst doing their job.

Workers from the Mobile Household Waste Centres (MHWCs) were sent to MacKenzie Road, in Sparkhill, at 7.30am on Thursday.

Residents were encouraged to bring their rubbish to the truck which was scheduled to remain on the site until 12.45pm.

It has now emerged that the crew had to return to their depot after suffering abuse and intimidation.
