'Cannibals' target car as fan watches Blues

A BIRMINGHAM City fan has called for tougher police action after he returned to his vehicle to find it stripped and destroyed by ‘car cannibals’

The Blues fan, who asked to remain anonymous, parked his Peugeot 208 in Bolton Road before watching his team’s 1-0 home win against Oxford United on Saturday, August 23.

He had parked his electric vehicle close to St Andrew’s stadium because he was out with his 80-year-old father-in-law who struggles to walk long distances.

But the pair returned to the car after the match to find it completely decimated and stripped by thieves.

Car cannibals, who sell the stripped vehicle parts for quick cash, have long preyed on Birmingham City fans who park in streets around the ground.
