Work starts on section of 'Riviera'

The Department of Rural Roads (DRR) has started work on a 37-kilometre section of the Thailand Riviera road in Phetchaburi, as part of a plan to improve transport infrastructure and promote sustainable tourism along the Gulf of Thailand.

Director-general Montri Dechasakulsom said the new route, known as the Tanaosri Khiriphat scenic Rroad, will run from Ban Khao Bandai to Ban Namphu Ron, crossing through Nong Ya Plong and Khao Yoi districts. At present, work is focused on land surveys, route alignment and clearing the designated area. The project will wrap up in 2027.
