So, your ball ends up on a path — what are your options?You can play it off the path if you so desire however, most of us don’t want to do this due to slipping and the danger of damaging your club. The other option is to take a free drop at the nearest point of relief away from the cart path and not nearer the hole, the confusion here is that many think that whatever side of the path the ball is closest too, then that’s the side you'll measure relief and drop. This is not necessarily the case because the tule states
