Defence measures preventive: Anutin
Thailand has reaffirmed that recently approved spending on weapons procurement and border fencing is preventive, non-provocative and fully in line with international law, amid heightened scrutiny of developments along the Thai-Cambodian border and adjacent waters.
In a statement issued yesterday, the Joint Information Centre on the Thailand-Cambodia Situation said Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul's approval of additional funding to enhance security capabilities and strengthen border management is a routine measure to safeguard national sovereignty, protect public safety and combat cross-border crime.
