Over 300 Myanmar nationals flee across border
Bangkok Post
|May 11, 2025
>>Over 300 Myanmar nationals crossed the border into Thailand's Tak province early yesterday, as fighting continued following the seizure of a military base by Karen forces, local authorities said yesterday.
Thai border patrol police and soldiers have reinforced the border area between tambon Mae La in Tak and Hpa-An district in Myanmar’s Karen state.
The heightened security came in response to the arrival of 328 refugees fleeing clashes between the Myanmar military and the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA), a force under the Karen National Union (KNU).
