Office of irony

The Office of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) finally broke its silence on Thursday and revealed to the public how it would be handling the scandalous accusation of bribe-taking levelled against some of its members.
-
The move, approved by most of its commissioners, does not inspire much trust.
Our national graft-buster, tasked with handling high-profile cases of corruption, has been rocked by some serious allegations.
Last month, the police publicly accused a commissioner and an official from the NACC of taking bribes in the form of gold bars from a deputy national police chief in exchange for clearing him in a corruption probe.
Video clips showing a van believed to belong to the accused commissioner picking up bags of gold bars have since gone viral, along with audio clips between the alleged go-between and NACC staff.
Two unsigned statements from NACC officials emerged last week, urging one of the agency's commissioners to resign, after they were released to the media.
