Nuttaphong floated as Pheu Thai pick for PM

The Pheu Thai Party has hinted at its intention to approach Nuttaphong Kunakornwong, a son-in-law of former premier Thaksin Shinawatra, whom many supporters now want to see named asa party prime ministerial candidate in the next general election.
Mr Nuttaphong is the husband of Pintongta Shinawatra Kunakornwong, Thaksin's eldest daughter, and chief executive of SC Asset Corporation. Previously, Ms Pintongta herself was widely speculated among Pheu Thai supporters as a possible successor to her younger sister, former prime minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, in the next race for power.
Responding to this speculation, Phumtham Wechayachai, a key Pheu Thai figure, said only that it was best for Ms Pintongta to continue with her business management role.
