Gold eases back amid hopes for US-China trade talks

Gold recorded its second consecutive weekly loss as easing trade tensions between the US and China and a strong US jobs report kept pressure on prices.

The afternoon fixing on Friday in London was $3,249.70 an ounce, compared with $3,277.30 a week earlier. Thai selling prices were quoted at 50,850 baht per baht-weight (15.2 grammes), down 1,850 baht from the previous week.
China’s commerce ministry said on Friday that the US has repeatedly expressed willingness to negotiate on tariffs and that Beijing's door is open for talks.
