Defending champions Buriram United secured their place in the semifinals of the Asean Club Championship — the Shopee Cup — with a commanding 6-0 victory over Dynamic Herb Cebu of the Philippines on Wednesday night.
The result ensured the Thai League 1 leaders finished top of Group A and advanced to May's last four.
Goals from Sandy Walsh, Goran Causic, Kinsley Schindler, Phitiwat Sookjitthammakul, Nathakorn Rattanasuwan and Suphanat Mueanta sealed the points at the Thunder Castle, where the hosts wasted little time in asserting their dominance before a buoyant home crowd.
Buriram had broken their run of three successive draws last week with victory over Tampines Rovers, and they carried that momentum into this fixture.
