Applying 'October Theory' to life

As we inch comfortably into Q4 2025, effectively beginning plans for our end-of-year travels, festivities and upcoming social engagements, October arrives as a calm refuge to reset goals and review priorities.

If you're a fan of the Marie Kondo way of living, this should spark some joy and order into your life before the mayhem kicks in. We may be fluent in urban slang, but the term “October Theory”, which gained TikTok popularity and relevance in 2024, is admittedly new to us. So, here’s essentially what it means.

October is apparently now a month of reset, a “mini-January” if you will. It's the perfect month to reflect, reconsider and replan your priorities and goals, and a good excuse to whip out that weekly planner you bought and discarded by March. A concept brought to life by the West, it's no coincidence that October Theory also coincides with the arrival of autumn, when the leaves start changing colour and light jackets are brought out of closets.
