Rail project could face lengthy delay
The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) will seek a final ruling from the Attorney-General on whether to terminate contracts with Italian-Thai Development Plc (ITD) following a deadly rail accident.
Anan Phonimdaeng, acting SRT governor, said yesterday the SRT board on Thursday agreed to forward all investigation findings to the Office of the Attorney-General for a decisive opinion. The move concerns civil works contracts 3-4 of the Thai-Chinese high-speed rail project, covering the Lam Takhong-Sikhio and Kut Chik-Khok Kruat sections in Nakhon Ratchasima.
