2 instructors jailed over conscript's death

A court has jailed two army instructors for their roles in the death of conscript Kittithorn Wiangbanphot.
The Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct Cases Region 5 ruled yesterday that the two instructors had subjected the soldier to cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment during training at Mengrai Maharaj Camp in Chiang Rai in 2023.
Kittithorn, a member of the 1/66 intake, died on July 16 that year from septicaemia after falling ill during military training.
