Digital project helps to bridge generation gap

Top prize The project received the Transforming Lives award this year

The latest session of North Lanarkshire Council's digital intergenerational project has come to a successful close, with another great session between tenants of Victoria Gardens retirement complex and P6 and P7 digital leaders from Victoria Primary School.

This award-winning initiative, delivered through the council's Driving Digital Locally initiative, brings generations together to improve digital skills among older adults while helping young pupils develop vital communication and social skills.

Over the course of the four-week project in Airdrie, the tenants and pupils engaged in weekly sessions using iPads, empowering older residents to navigate the digital world with confidence.
