Science Admissions: Vacant Seats on Rise

Just 3,568 of 8,010 seats filled in GU's BSc colleges; some get less than 10 students; MG Science among few that admits more than capacity

The admission cycle may change every year, but one trend remains stubbornly constant in colleges offering Bachelor of Science courses — a rising number of vacant seats. This year too, BSc colleges affiliated to Gujarat University (GU) have reported dismal admissions, with just 44.54% of seats taken, according to varsity data.
