GST reforms boost car sales

SUVs, hatchbacks dominate car sales
In the past 10 days, Ahmedabad alone has accounted for about 30% of automobile sales in Gujarat during the Navratri to Dussehra period.
Two and four-wheeler passenger vehicle sales have jumped 15% compared to the same period last year.
Rs 3,300 crore sales
According to Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) data, the 10-day Navratri and Dussehra period saw total sales of Rs 3,300 crore. This breaks down to Rs 1,000 crore in two-wheelers and Rs 2,300 crore in cars.
Ahmedabad district recorded bookings of 14,000-15,000 two-wheelers and 5,500-6,000 cars during this period. On Dussehra alone, dealers completed deliveries of 6,000 two-wheelers and 2,400 cars.
