City police are on high alert with Friday prayers and the grand Rath Yatra set for the same day this year. Community leaders and organisers have teamed up to coordinate efforts and head off potential tension.

Police sources confirm security measures are in place along the Rath Yatra route and in sensitive areas. Both communities have shown remarkable understanding. Muslim clerics agreed to speed up Friday prayers while Rath Yatra organisers promised to pause if the procession coincided with prayer calls.
