20 schools evacuated after bomb threat mails

Second scare in a month; Dec 17 threats to 34 schools still uncracked; central agencies join investigation

Around 20 schools were evacuated on Friday morning after receiving threatening emails warning of bomb blasts, forcing emergency evacuations and intensive security checks.

This is the second such incident in recent weeks. On December 17 last year, 34 schools in Ahmedabad city, district and Gandhinagar received similar bomb threat mails. That case is yet to be cracked.

'Guj enemy of Khalistan'

The threatening email sent to multiple schools claimed that “Gujarat is an enemy of Khalistan” and alleged that explosions would take place in three to four schools at 1:11 pm.
