Gus SALE Sharks Warr believes that time spent rubbing shoulders and working with the likes of double World Cup winner Faf de Klerk has helped lift his game to another level.
The tyro has waited in the wings understudying a conveyer belt of quality for Sale's No.9 shirt in recent years, including former England and Great Britain scrum-half Joe Simpson, as well as Will Cliff and current sparing partner Raffi Quirke.
Having become a mainstay of the side at the helm of the Premiership, and getting a winning start to Sharks' Champions Cup campaign a fortnight ago, the 24-year-old has developed a reputation of being a terrier in defence, and a creator in attack.
He told TRP: "I got my first proper opportunity last season to have a crack at it and I've not wanted to let go of the shirt, I've tried to grab it with both hands and keep it for as long as possible.
