FC UNITED of Manchester boss Neil Reynolds hailed his side for getting off to a bright start on their latest European adventure after the lights initially went out!

The Red Rebels began their latest Fenix Trophy campaign with a 4-1 win over Polish side Krakow Dragoons.

But it wasn't all straightforward. Nic Bollado put the NPL Premier side in front on Monday night only for the a power cut in the local area to knock out the floodlights with just 21 minutes played.

By the time they were up and running again, the 10pm stadium curfew couldn't be met so the two teams agreed to resume from the point they stopped the following day.

Bollado scored again with their other goals coming from a Charlie Ennis' penalty and Dontai Gabidon.

Reynolds admits they are still stinging from not retaining the trophy last season when the final was held in the iconic San Siro stadium.

And that's why getting off to a good start was so important-after they finally completed the tie.
