ECSTATIC Maidstone United boss George Elokobi hailed a ‘mesmerising’ winner from Bivesh Gurung against League Two high-flyers Barrow – after almost taking him off!

The National League South Stones are into the FA Cup third round for the first time since their reformation in 1992.

They won the tie with an absolutely stunning strike from Gurung, who had been due to be substituted eight minutes before he hit the winner.

Gurung’s number had been put into the electronic board but as that happened, Sol Wanjau-Smith went down injured and was replaced by Lamar Reynolds instead.

It turned out to have fortunate consequences in the 74th minute.

Sam Corne’s corner from the right was only headed out as far as Sam Bone on the edge of the box. He touched it into space for Gurung, who smashed a super finish into the top left corner of the net.
