Seadogs can seize FA Cup lifeline, says Brown

SCARBOROUGH Athletic must take confidence from their first FA Cup tie with Forest Green Rovers - and seize the opportunity of their unexpected reprieve.

That is the view of left-back Alex Brown as the Seadogs prepare to host the League Two side in the first round once again on Tuesday night after FA chiefs ordered the tie to be replaved.

It comes after an investigation into the eligibility of a Forest Green player.

While Non-League Horsham were handed an automatic place in the second round when it was discovered their first-round opponents Barnsley had played an ineligible player, Rovers have breached a different rule.

They hadn't passed on the necessary permission to the FA for a loan player, who was correctly registered generally, to play in the FA Cup.
