IT'S ALL OVER FOR GARRARD AS FLEET SEND WOOD DOWN

LUKE GARRARD’S last stand as Boreham Wood manager ended in relegation as Ebbsfleet United secured their National League status – just – on a tense final day.

The outgoing Wood boss, who it was announced recently would be stepping down at the end of the season, saw his side finish the campaign unbeaten in four but it was not enough to stay up in front of a record league crowd at Meadow Park of 3,011.

But for a late disallowed Kabongo Tshimanga goal and a penalty appeal for handball against Billy Clifford that was waved away by referee Robert Massey-Ellis, it could have been a different story but Garrard's men couldn't find the goal they needed to send the Kent side down instead.

Garrard's eight-and-a-halfyear tenure in charge of Boreham Wood ends six years after he led them to the play-off final at Wembley and a 2-1 loss to ten-man Tranmere Rovers.
