Despite being reduced to ten men when Jack Bodenham was dismissed just after the half-hour mark, the Northumbrians ran out easy winners against their newly-promoted hosts to continue their perfect start.

Having punctured the party atmosphere at the UNIS Compliance Stadium with an early JJ O’Donnell opener, Jonathan Hooper added a second to put Blyth in command.

The game may have turned out differently had Bohan Dixon not crashed a penalty against the woodwork for the hosts in first-half injury time, but boss Graham Fenton was able to reflect on a job well done.
