Clarets boss Robbie Simpson thought his side could have hit four or five. “My only frustration from today was it wasn’t more,” he told The NLP, “but I was really pleased with the clean sheet.”

Weymouth boss Bobby Wilkinson admitted: “The better team won the game. We didn’t really turn up today. I don’t think we had any momentum, but we have to dust ourselves down and go again.”

Speaking about Anthony Cheshire’s red card, Wilkinson said: “Cheshire has been brilliant up to today, but I don’t know whether it was a sending-off until I look back at it.”
