Women Torchbearers of Viksit Bharat - Learning Beyond Boundaries

What major strides can be taken to upgrade the current education system and become more inclusive?

India will continue to have the highest population of young people, between ages 18-24, in the world over the next decade, and our ability to provide high-quality educational opportunities to them will determine the future of our country. Unfortunately, the average GER still remains below 25%. This demand-supply gap calls for a more strategic approach to make the education more accessible for many in this age bracket. The global education development agenda reflected in SDG 4 was adopted by India in 2015, and it asks us to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education to promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. And for this, more and more higher education institutes (HEIs) need to bring accessibility into their strategic priorities.
