Irina Ghosh's vital role propels India's AI-first leadership and then “My Little Bit” more
-
In January 2025, Microsoft announced a USD 3 billion investment spread over two years to accelerate the growth of India's cloud and AI infrastructure. As the Managing Director of Microsoft India, Irina Ghosh is ready to implement this development with her two decades of leading the South Asian division.
Irina Ghosh is committed to helping India achieve its much-desired AI First Nation status and has planned to train 10 million Indians with AI skills by 2030. Ghosh is excited about Microsoft Research Lab launching the AI Innovation Network designed to speed up the research and testing to usage as soon as possible, impacting business applications for the highest efficiencies and productivity. According to Ghosh, Microsoft wants to be the most important partner in India's journey as the global hub of AI. One of the first concern areas is cyber-security and in 2023, the Secure Future Initiative was launched in India under her leadership. The high-value division now employs 34,000 full-time engineers and is the biggest project in the history of cybersecurity.
