Revivo Wellness Resort Bali will cajole even the most stubborn workaholic into taking a well-deserved rest.

A Guilt-free Slumber

ONE BIRD. NO, two. I’m lying beneath a tree, counting birds in a state of languid reverie. I’m not working. Worse still, I don’t feel guilty about it.

If you're a fellow Singaporean, you'd understand. A masochistic obsession with work isn’t uniquely Singaporean, but few around the world carry it with such bizarre dignity. After all, when you’ve been told since childhood that your tiny dot of a country must maximise its workforce to survive, a workaholic streak feels almost patriotic.

This hyperfixation on work is part of why wellness resorts have become a balm for Singaporeans in recent years. Fortunately for us, Revivo Wellness Resort—a serene retreat where the weary can go to unwind—is just a three-hour flight away, in Nusa Dua, Bali.

“All you need is a tree,” says Jayvant Bhagattjee, my assigned wellness consultant. I raise an eyebrow. I know I am running on empty but what he is suggesting seems extreme.

“To lie down under,” he clarifies.

Every trip to Revivo Wellness begins with a consultation with one of its wellness consultants. In truth, the process begins even before you arrive; guests are expected to complete a comprehensive questionnaire before their stay to elucidate their energy levels, lifestyle, and wellness goals. A wellness consultant will then use the questionnaire to design a personalised programme and meal plan tailored to your needs and goals.
