I’ve been growing fuzzy ferns outside at the farm for years. A few springs ago, on a whim, I snipped off a single stem and placed it inside in a vase. After a while, I realized how much I enjoyed seeing it every day. Now, it’s become a spring tradition to make space for a few fuzzy ferns around the house. Whether it’s the color that catches my eye or its sort of wild, untamed look, this unassuming plant has become a simple dose of daily inspiration. —Jo
