Among them is Prasanna Dattaprasad Kakatkar, a young and gifted artist from Khorlim, Mapusa, whose journey into the world of fine arts is as inspiring as it is impressive.

A Journey Rooted in Passion

Born and brought up in Mapusa, Prasanna's artistic journey began at Saraswat Vidyalaya, where his talent for drawing was first recognized. Encouraged by his school to participate in poster-making competitions, he gradually discovered his passion for art. However, unlike many artists who inherit their craft, Prasanna is the first in his family to pursue this path professionally. Determined to hone his skills, he pursued a B.Sc. in Mural and Print Media at DECAD (Devrukh College of Art and Design) in Ratnagiri, an institution affiliated with Mumbai University. The transition from Goa to Ratnagiri was not without its challenges adapting to a new environment, language, and routine took time. Nevertheless, Prasanna embraced the rigorous curriculum, which required him to complete 10-20 sketches daily, refining his technique and discipline.
