EVERY SUMMER IN NEW YORK, MEDIA BRANDS play one another in a softball league. Until the pandemic started in 2020, Esquire fielded a team. My first season was summer 2016. I played left field in the jersey you see here. I wore it with pride: Working at Esquire is a dream, and I felt like I had earned this thick piece of cotton.
