Romance And Remembrance
August Man SG
|Issue 221 (January 2026)
WITH ITS NEW MENU EXCAVATING EIGHT LESSER-KNOWN ERAS OF SINGAPORE'S PAST, THE WAREHOUSE LOBBY BAR TURNS STORYTELLING INTO HIGH ART.
THERE'S NO OTHER in Singapore: a threshold that opens directly into a hushed spectacle.
A towering space dressed in the best shades and contours of classicism and modernity, anchored by a sunken bar that positions you at eye-level with the decorated makers of your drinks and the dedicated custodians of your night. A street-side oasis that blocks out the noise the moment the portal is closed. All illuminated perfectly by a hue of sepia so sensuous and inviting, it bestows a halo upon every sip taken, every word shared, and every memory made.
This is the Lobby Bar of The Warehouse Hotel. A fountain of history that flows into the present, where memory becomes flavour, and past and present trade secrets across every glass. Captained by Joseph Haywood, director of food & beverage, the guardians of the bar operate at the intersection of passion and purpose, every drink they hand a conduit of refinement and culture.
Now, their powers converge on presenting the story of their muse: the storied hotel and its many incarnations on a canvas both sensually and intellectually enriching.
It's a new cocktail menu that journeys from the 1890s to the 2000s, pairing each decade with a classic of its era and a signature reinvention shaped by the building's past lives (spice godown, secret-society enclave, disco sanctuary) and the city that grew around it.
