'My playful home is full of fun!'

A showcase for her creativity, Joanne Mooney's uplifting home is bursting with colour, pattern and handmade touches that she's layered up over 20 years

With baby number two on the way, Joanne and her husband, Gary, had outgrown the small house they bought before they were married, so they began the search for a larger home. Joanne spotted a new housing estate just outside Swords, County Dublin, and loved the fact that each house was slightly different. However, when she enquired, she was disappointed to learn that all the houses had already been sold. Undeterred, she kept in touch with the agent in the hope that a buyer would change their mind, and her perseverance paid off when one of the buyers pulled out. Joanne quickly put down a deposit and the house was theirs.
