Based in Ahmedabad, Mahadevwala Mahadevwala's Jwalant and Kanika Agarwal andblack design studio is an award-winning, multi-disciplinary architectural and interior design firm that dares to venture beyond the conventional. Known for fearlessly exploring diverse design solutions across various scales, the studio embraces originality, experimentation and minimalism in their public projects, private homes and handcrafted sculptural furniture line. Jwalant and Kanika set up andblack design studio in 2012 after receiving their master's degrees from the Architectural Association, London, and respectively working at Zaha Hadid Architects and Michael Hopkins. Jwalant's background in design research and generative processes combined with Kanika's knowledge in sustainable architecture has lent itself to the firm's unique ideology.
