Between the lines WITH ROHIT BHOITE

Layered and versatile much like his work, Rohit Bhoite walks us through his unique journey into becoming the person he is today

Before establishing himself as a sought-after interior designer, Rohit Bhoite of RB House of Design lived many lives each chapter adding to his creative voice today. "I've done everything under the sun to be a rebel and not venture into design," he says with a laugh. A physics graduate who worked in a call centre, ran an event management company, and even attempted the MBA entrance exam, Rohit was initially determined to forge a different path. "My parents are into architecture and interiors. My father is a renowned temple architect, so I didn't want to do that," he explains. But design, it seems, was inescapable. He eventually enrolled in a three-year interior design programme at Rachana Sansad, honed his craft under the mentorship of Nitin Kilawala and Pronit Nath, and earned a degree from Domus Academy in Milan. Today, 15 years on, his design consultancy's portfolio spans residential, retail, and hospitality projects across India and Canada each one marked by a journey both personal and professional.
