BEST FOOD – Hooked
This award-winning restaurant is known for its creative, locally sourced artisan food. Named after the meat hooks used in the traditional butcher's shop once ran by owner Anthony Gray's father, Hooked emphasises using the best local ingredients from Irish producers. The restaurant serves delicious dishes in a relaxed, eclectic atmosphere, offering a casual dining experience with a focus on fresh, high-quality seafood, meats, and produce. As the host of Taste of Tours Sligo, Hooked is a must-visit for food enthusiasts looking to enjoy Sligo’s finest flavors. Visit hookedsligo.ie and follow @hookedsligo
BEST VIEW – Aughris HeadAughris Head is located in a rural area in southern Sligo Bay. The ideal starting point for an exploration is the parking space at the Beach Bar, a traditional Irish pub. To the west, the path leads along the coast to a sacred spring associated with St. Patrick and the view over Sligo Bay is simply breathtaking. The newly redeveloped and extended Aughris Coastal Walk is one of the most spectacular coastal walks on the west coast of Ireland. Located on the Wild Atlantic Way, it offers breath taking scenery and fresh sea air on a way-marked looped trail, 4km in length, which is suitable for all members of the family.
